Dr. Netra Bhatia

Netra Bhatia

“Healing isn’t about becoming someone else — it’s about coming home to yourself.”

Netra Bhatia, a trained Counselling Psychologist with extensive experience working with individuals across the lifespan — from children as young as five to adults navigating the pressures of adulthood and systemic change. My counselling journey is grounded in a deep belief: therapy is not just about reducing symptoms — it’s about restoring connection, safety, and meaning in life.

Over the past several years, she has worked in diverse clinical and community settings — from private clinics to government institutions — offering trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and goal-oriented therapy. Her core areas of specialization include:

I. Clinical Specializations
- Anxiety, panic, and excessive worry
- Trauma, PTSD, and inner-child work
- Self-esteem, shame, and inner-critic healing
- Cancer anxiety in children and caregivers
- Relationship concerns (romantic, familial, interpersonal)
- Life transitions, academic burnout, and career stress
- Institutional trauma and suicidal ideation (Tihar Jail project)

II. Therapeutic Approaches
- Trauma-Informed Therapy
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Narrative Therapy
- Strength-Based and Client-Centered Approaches
- Psychoeducation and Skills-Based Work
- Humor and creativity in emotional processing (researched approach)

III. Certifications & Training
- Trauma-Informed Care
- Forensic Psychology
- Child Counselling through a Trauma Lens
- Clinical Disorders in Rehabilitation Settings

IV. Research & Advocacy Highlights
- Research presentations at the 34th Annual Conference of the 2nd National Academy of Psychology.
- Publications on mental health and hustle culture in Tongji Journal and Mindful Spectrum.
- Panelist on News9 Live on psychological aspects of suicide, masculinity, and isolation.
- Contributor to ICSSR-sponsored book chapter on grit, rumination, and mental health.

Currently, she practices at The Mind & Wellness Clinic (New Delhi), where she provides one-on-one counselling tailored to the unique pace and story of every individual. She has also worked with the Tihar Jail Psychological First Aid Project, where she offered therapeutic support to inmates facing suicidal ideation — an experience that profoundly shaped her understanding of resilience, shame, and systemic trauma.

My therapeutic style is integrative and collaborative — drawing from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Humanistic frameworks, and Mind-Body practices, depending on the client’s needs. What remains constant is my commitment to safety, validation, and growth.

Alongside my clinical work, she is a doctoral scholar at BITS Pilani, where she researches the psychological recovery process in rehabilitation settings, focusing on maladaptive personality traits, humor as a coping mechanism, and resilience. While academia gives her structure, it is therapy that gives her purpose. She strives to bridge the two worlds by integrating evidence-based insights into her sessions and ensuring that research is informed by lived realities.

In addition to being a therapist, she has engaged in public mental health advocacy — including being invited as a panelist on News9 Live to discuss the psychological dimensions of high-profile mental health crises. She also regularly contributes to academic conferences and has authored publications on the mental toll of hustle culture, self-worth, and psychosocial recovery.

From Counsellor
"I believe therapy is a space where you reclaim your voice, unpack the weight you’ve carried, and gradually learn to meet yourself with compassion. Whether you're seeking clarity, healing, or simply a place to be heard — I welcome you to begin that journey here.”
